Colonel Windridge was in charge of the Native Police in Melbourne in 1840. He was sent by Gov. Latrobe to make a road b/w Melbourne and Port Albert . On 8.3.1946 he named Lake Tyers after CJ Tyers Crown Land Commissioner for Gippsland. This is a copy of "THE BRIDGE AT BOGGY CREEK, NOWA NOWA, LAKE TYERS." which is a Rose Stereograph Co postcard. Boggy Creek Bridge was built in 1916 as part of the Bairnsdale to Orbost extension to the main Gippsland Railway, and is situated in the middle of the township of Nowa Nowa, crossing a steep-sided and well-timbered creek-valley. This section of the line closed in 1987.
