Series of 14 letters, memos, correspondence, documents regarding the interface between trains and cable trams at Level crossings on the inner circle line - Queens Parade Clifton Hill. Includes a cutting about an accident from the Age 27/6/1922 where people were injured due to the safety bar. Includes discussion about the possibility of cable trams entangled in a broken strand, actions of signalmen, Victorian Railways instructions, correspondence between the MMTB, Tramway Board and the Railways including letterhead, notice to grip men and conductors describing the operation of the bolt or bar that would prevent a grip passing the point when the gates were closed. Black and white print of MMTB Bus No. 79. This was the second tourist bus, imported by MMTB Chairman Bell from Canada in 1939. It was built by the Canadian Car Co. Because of WW2, it was put into normal passenger service in July 1940 and had a mundane existence from that time onwards. It was sold to Melbourne Brighton Bus Lines however they never used it. Bus has the destination of Nicholson St. Appears is poor condition. Has other Mark III buses in the background. All have PTC Copyright Stamp on rear.
