Photograph shows decorated tram No. 23, eastbound between Dawson and Doveton Streets. The tram was decorated for the 100 years of European settlement (1938) in the Ballarat district. The Queen Alexandra bandstand and buildings in the background have been decorated as well. The street decoration just in front of the tram, was recycled from an earlier Melbourne celebration event. Black and white photograph of Bendigo Birney SEC No. ? decorated for the 1969 Myer's Christmas Tram. Photographed on the depot entry track by Bob Prentice, December 1969. Tram heavily decorated with standard Christmas decorations, two large boards on the sides "see Myer Toyland Second Floor" and "hey kids Meet Santa at Myer Bendigo" and on the front of the tram, the front panel has been painted with the words "Santa Special". The front cabin of the tram has been sheared off, which it is designed to do. There is another tram behind the damaged one. Set of three foolscap size sheets, for ARE/ARHS/AREA (Vintage Train) Tour to Ballarat, on Sunday 5 September 1971, the last day of the Mount Pleasant, Gardens Via St. West Lines. 1. - Welcome Aboard circular - printed both sides on pink paper - which involved the running of two trains, special bus and tram arrangements at Ballarat, for the visit to Sovereign Hill. Gives details of the tram timetables, for the afternoon, train departure times, lunch arrangements and notes on bus and tram running if peak loads encountered. 2nd copy ex Peter Winspur, added 11/1/2007. 2. Victorian Railways S Circular, or special train notice, S2188/71, three pages giving list of special trains, altered platform arrangements at Flinders St., train schedules, alterations to goods trains, light engine movements, loads, motive power and tickets.
