The tickets are for use on the provincial tramways of Ballarat, Bendigo and Geelong. The daily tickets, printed on beige, pink or cream colored paper, have a value between 1 pence and 2 pence. The postcard photograph shows PMTT No. 23 a Maximum Traction bogie, straight sill combination with drop end at the Malvern Burke Road terminus, c1916. See page 60 of Destination City 5th edition for details of the tram. Purchased by the Prahran and Malvern Tramways Trust, sold to the Hawthorn Tramways Trust during 1916, in 1920 absorbed by the MMTB and classed "O". They were sold to Adelaide in 1927. There is a large "1" in the front window, indicating the route number and the destination of Burke Road. Originally stamped for use by North Melbourne cable tram depot, no. 101 and then "No. 67" or on rear No. 205 with other numbers stamped out. Has many nicks in the leather to hold elastic bands. Probably made when the MMTB introduced paper tickets onto the cable trams. On the inside is the Fare Section table for East Preston - City (via St Georges Rd and Latrobe St") - sheet 17 - which matches the 1955 Sections and Fares Book - see Reg Item 1207.
