Used on Melbourne trams during a time to promote an Olympics event possibly for the Melboune bid in 1995/96. Made by Evan Evans of Elizabeth St Melbourne which has a postcode of 3000 and a 7 digit telephone number.Demonstrates a Olympics flag used on Melbourne trams.Flag - sewn cotton grey colour base with the five olympic colours or rings edged in black cotton fitted and stapled to a wooden round rod. Photograph shows part of the preserved cable grip car number 1 and trailer car number 1 in a large glass covered display case in Russell Street behind the (then) Melbourne Museum and State Library. The photograph shows the trailer car's draw bar inserted into the grip car's socket held in place with a pin. It also shows the car and grip secured with a safety chain. Part one is the speculum, flared at one end and has an angled handle, with a small inlet that connects to the body of the proctoscope. Part two is the obturator, which has an olivary tip, and handle (four sided) connected by narrow rodmade in England stamped on one side of handle of speculum at base, previous catalogue number written in black ink. ward 12 No 6. engraved on other side of handle.' On one face of obturator handle Alfred Hospital is engraved. on second face Wd22/23 is engraved, on third face a letter T is engraved, on the fourth face is a scratched out engraving and the letter T.
