... in 'oyster shell'; D) gold ball; E) pink plastic weave; F) silver...) 1x pink metal beads;C) gold ball in 'oyster shell'; D) gold ...These hat pins represents women's fashion in the late 19thC and early 20thC. As the material used in the construction is not of a high monetary value it can be assumed it was everyday woman's apparel to keep the hat firmly fastened into the hair. It does indicate that fashion of the time was important and many women used their craftwork skills to create their own hat pins. This item is a reflection of the fashion mode of the late 19thC and early 20thC when long hair needed to be controlled by hair pins It is also an example of society's mores of tidiness 14 lady's steel hat pins in various styles numbered A -i A) 6x pearl tear-drop ; B) 1x pink metal beads;C) gold ball in 'oyster shell'; D) gold ball; E) pink plastic weave; F) silver metal ball; g) black bead; h) white ball; i) pale blue glass set in brassmoorabbin, brighton, early settlers, pioneers, cheltenham, craftwork, clothing -

The chief was John's recruitment officer in 1968. During the Vietnam War, the Rhade would be "recruited" from their villages to work with various units such as the MIKE force led by Captain White. As well as fighting-power, they were valuable for their understanding of the local environment. Like all Montagnards serving in the war, translation was also a vitally important skill they provided.Long piece of coarsely woven fabric with patterned braid and fringing at each end. ... of the original landscape layout of the property. (Criteria D and E... of the original landscape layout of the property. (Criteria D and E ...The dwelling is representative of the development of the Georgian Revival style in the 1920s and 30s and its popularity amongst the upper-middle classes as a result of the work of William Hardy Wilson and Professor Leslie Wilkinson. It is of importance as a fine and largely intact designer/builder example of the Georgian Revival style, with American Georgian Revival influences. The dwelling embodies the principal characteristics of the style. American Georgian Revival influences are noted in the deep eaves with modillions, central broken pediment, brick quoins and presentation of the central porch. The garden wall, with arched opening, in the side setback appears to be an early or original landscape feature, based on the comparable brick work detail construction with that of the house. Considering this, it is the only early landscape feature extant which assists in providing some understanding of the original landscape layout of the property. (Criteria D and E) (Boroondara Planning Scheme)Colour photographic positive of 264 Cotham Road, Kew. The residence was constructed in 1931 for the Howitt family. 264 Cotham Road, Kew (HO813) is an individually listed building of significance under Amendment C294 of the Boroondara Planning Scheme. 264 cotham road -- kew (vic.) -
