Greens Creek Bridge on the Wimmera River built in 1929 by C.R.B. and now demolished. The replacement bridge was designed to cope with the floods and the approaches to the new bridge were built up. Daughters Alice, Lizzie, Elsie, Ruby, Lena Mow Fung. The son Hoctor buried Deep Lead cemetery 1892 aged 3 months. Mow Fung died in Hong Kong 1897 aged 76. His wife Anna Mow Fung died in 1899 aged 51. Portrait of George Jennings "Mayo Park" Lubeck. George Jennings was elected to Old Roads Board in 1863. Except for the years 1882 - 84. He served on the Council until 1891 - 1874 Shire President. From County Galway in Ireland. Jennings arrived in Pleasant Creek in 1858. For many years he owned "The Western Turf Hotel at Quartz Reefs. Great Western. Part of a collection of Photographs by Mr. O.G. Armstrong as commissioned by the Shire of Stawell for the Inter-colonial and Paris Exhibition in Melbourne in 1866. Great Western began as a changing station on Concongella, northeast of the present Township. The gold rush in Great Western began in 1858 and soon after a post office and store opened. A Township was surveyed and lots sold in October 1858. The gold soon passed and the diggers went on, leaving a small settlement. In 1863 Jean Pierre Trouette and Emile Bampied, his brother-in-law, planted the first vines and build the first winery, thus setting a firm foundation upon which the present wine industry has been built. Two colour photographs of Track into Quarry Road Grampians. Once Rail Line used in construction of dam wall, later used as rifle range. The rifle range was once the last part of the railway track that ran to the quarry which was used to cart stone to Lake Fyans when it was being constructed. (1912-1918). Four Posts Inn. Glenorchy built about 1841 by John Gleeson on the Wimmera River at Glenorchy. Building no longer exists as burnt down in 1944. Located on the site now known as Glenorchy (Victoria). Glenorchy is approximately 20Km from the former Ashen's pastoral run occupied by Dugald McPherson. The Four post Inn was a "Staging Camp" for the police escort route during the transportation of gold by road from Mount Alexander gold fields (Bendigo) to Adelaide South Australia in 1852-53. The police escort is known to have called in at Ashens homestead to visit Dugald McPherson. The Four Post Inn was the scene on the occasion of and encounter between the police escort and bushrangers. At a later date The Four Post Inn was a staging camp for the horse drawn coach service between Stawell and Horsham.Small weatherboard building with no verandah and tree blocking the view.
