Clothing - LONG SLEEVED BLACK CREPE DRESS
Long sleeved black synthetic crepe dress. Cross over shawl collar to waist to form V neckline.Collars edged on outer sides with decorative black spiral embroidered backless buttons. Long sleeves tapered slightly to wrist. Calf length skirt is made up of ten gored sections. Five narrow gores across centre front, two side panels and three wider sections across the back. Hanro Autumn and Winter Catalogue 1963: Brown background with black print on card. A four star banner with Hanro printed in white on a black back appears on the on the left side. A black sketch of an adult male dressed in white shirt, black tie, light V neck cardigan with three buttons, and light trousers with a weave. The words Swiss Inspired Knitwear appears at the lower right edge of the page. White autumn leaves are scattered over the front cover. The back cover has a four star Hanro banner with a white background and black printing left of centre. Australia Knitting Mills Ltd heads the Information for sales offices for Bendigo and Interstate offices. Autumn leaves in white are scattered over the back cover in white against the tan cover. The words 'The Quality is a Proud Tradition' graces the lower edge of the page. Advertising inside the front cover was a description of the Hanro Autumn and Winter Knitwear line consisting of men's cardigans, pullovers and shirt style. Made on the site of Bendigo's Richest Gold Mine, *The Little 180*. Inside the envelope is a collection of black and white photos of the erection of the John Brown Knitting Mills on Marong Road in Ironbark Bendigo. 14 Photos in total showing various views of the construction site. Workmen on the site laying bricks, constructing the steel building and trucks delivering steel etc. A crane truck with *General Carriers Bendigo* printed on the side door. On the back of each photo is *MP385*. Hanro Stand Along Counter Display: The picture is of three people at a BBQ scene. The man is chopping kindling and is wearing a yellow V neck lone sleeve jumper that has a vertical pattern. One lady is holding a sausage in a fork and is wearing a mauve twin set. The cardigan is V necked and has four buttons, lone sleeves with cuffs. The jumper has a high neck with a small collar. The twin set has an over all uniform pattern. The second lady is toasting bread on a long fork and is wearing a green jumper with long sleeves and high neck, it is knitted in a ribbed design. At the bottom is rectangular white area with Hanro knitwear printed in red and black ink. At the very bottom is *The Quality is a Proud Tradition* The front has water marks at the bottom. The back is green tin with a brown card piece for a stand and two metal holes with string for hanging if needed. Bellesini is hand written on a small white sticker. Hanro Stand Alone Counter Display Picture: A coloured picture of two men on the golf course playing golf modelling Hanro knitwear. One has on a beige long sleeve V necked cardigan. The pockets on either side have a pleat in the centre and a band at the top. The garment has a small vertical brown stripe running through out the fabric, it is buttoned up with five brown buttons. The other is a yellow V necked vest. The Vest is knitted in a small cable pattern with knit bands around the neck and arms. At the bottom on the picture is a label with white background and *Hanro in red and black print and Knitwear for men*. The very bottom printed in yellow is *'The Quality Is A Proud Tradition. The material for the front is plastic covered card. The back is green tin. A brown card rectangular strip used for a stand and has two metal holes with string attached. Functional object - LEATHER WASHER AND CORD
Brown circle of leather 4.8 cm dia. & 0.5 cm high with two grooves around a hole in the centre. A tack on each side of the hole. Threaded through the hole is a piece of woven cord 1.82 m long. It has a knot on each end. Cord frayed about 8 cm from the leather. Painted on the back is V ? 6852.leather washer and cord, on rear number v4 6852 in white. -

Leisure object - BOUDOIR DOLL
Composite face legs and arms. Painted features. Hair - possibly real, dark brown colour. Doll dressed in royal purple gown. Long sleeves with lace cuff. Faux fur collar around V shaped neckline at front and squared collar at back. Lace trim across front of neckline. Faux fur trim across centre front and centre back at hem. Three underskirts. Mauve satin with darker mauve frill around hem line. Stiffened white fabric (Vilene?) White drawers with lace trim on lower legs. Painted on shoes in gold paint. Purple velvet handbag edged with silver cord. Boudoir dolls are dolls that are made to sit on beds and sofas as decorations rather than being used for play. They are also called bed dolls, flapper dolls, and French dolls. Years of Production Although dolls that sit on beds are still being made today, the classic vintage boudoir dolls were made from approximately the 1920s through the 1940s. Some of the earliest dolls, made even earlier than 1920 in some cases, were made in France. Many of the dolls were made in an art deco style. -

Clothing - JOHN KENNETH MARTIN COLLECTION: WW2 ARMY UNIFORM JACKET, 1939-1945
Clothing, khaki woollen WW2 army uniform jacket. Single breasted with four brown metal AMF buttons (2 cm). Two breast pockets, (16 X 18 cm) with fold over tabs. All button tabs fastened with 1.5 cm metal buttons. Long sleeves with stitched down cuffs with V shaped peak on upper side. Both sleeves lined with cream and blue striped cotton fabric. 30 cm split at centre back from hem. Button down epaulettes on each shoulder with three captain's pips and two black stripes. Cloth badges on top of each sleeve. 1. Navy and red unit colour, (3 cm X 2.5 cm). 2. Light green, brown and blue colour (5 X 5 cm) (unknown). 2.5 X 2.5 cm square metal badges on each corner at front of collar. 5.5 cm wide cloth belt with metal buckle. Belt attached on side seams at waist by leather tabs threaded through belt keepers and fastened with 1.5 cm buttons. Cap belonged to John Kenneth Martin, padre in 2nd Australian Corps AIF. Clothing - LONG BLACK AND GOLD PATTERNED SKIRT / WITH TRAIN, 1870-1880
Black cotton with all-over gold paisley type floral patterning. Fully lined with brown cotton fabric. A slight train at the back hemline, and two V shaped flaps-one either side of the back opening, which probably accommodated bussell-like padding. The skirt is tightly gathered at the back to facilitate the padding. Front of skirt is flat, with a little easing of gathers. Pocket inside right hand side seam. Clothing - BROWN STRIPED BODICE WITH LACE TRIM(PART OF TWO PIECE OUTFIT, 11400.743 AND .744
Long sleeved bodice of ''resilda'' fabric. Long sleeves gather into a 9cm deep cuff. Cuff has a 4cm wide band, which is embroidered with a silk braid and floral embroidery in dark olive and a deep cream. A 5cmdeep band of floral cotton lace, in deep cream, trimmed at the edge with the braiding, completes the cuff. The same lace forms a 6cm deep stand-up collar, which is edged in a narrow velvet band of brown velvet. The back and front yoke is edged on the sides, with the same embroidered net as the sleeves. Braiding in a loop design underlines the bib shape, and also decorates the shoulders and upper sleeves. Sleeves are joined at the elbows, and decorated with braid. Bodice is pleated at the lower centre front to from a V shaped fitted waist. Back has a double plackett opening-the inner having ten hook and eye fasteners, the outer having three hooks and three hand made loops (as well as nine hooks and hand made loops on the back lace yoke). This two piece outfit-bodice and skirt, was made by Laura's Mother iv 1908, and mostly by hand. She wore it to Mass in 1913. Clothing - HELEN MUSK COLLECTION: BLACK SILK TOP
Black long-sleeved ladies’ silk blouse. High round neckline at front with V shaped lace insert from throat to bust line. Stand up lace and net collar. Top edge of collar is trimmed with pink ribbon piping and gathered cream coloured lace. There are three strips of brown tape attached vertically to the collar at each shoulder and front RHS of collar to hold plastic strips to support the collar in upright position. One piece of plastic still in place. On either side of centre front are vertical panels of pintucks with knife pleats on either side facing inwards. There are three small pink decorative buttons (1 cm) below the throat and another group of three buttons 10 cm below the first group. The top has a back opening fastened with 10 press studs. The back has two vertical panels of pintucks and knife pleats. The long sleeves have cuffs at the wrist (5 cm) with U-shaped split on upper side. Each cuff has three decorative pink buttons on one side of the U-shaped split. The lower edge of each cuff is trimmed with black lace (5 - 6 cm) that falls over the wrist. Long sleeved tangerine coloured ladies’ jumper with a small peaked revere collar and a 6cm long opening, fastened by one small plastic pearl button and woollen loop. Raglan sleeves with a patterned effect on the raglan shaping and a seven cm ribbed cuffs at the wrists. Three cm ribbed band at the waistline. Tangerine V necked long sleeved ladies’ cardigan with five plastic pearl button fastening. Raglan sleeves with a patterned effect on the raglan shaping and seven cm ribbed cuffs at the wrists. Three cm ribbed band at the waistline. Three cm ribbed band around front opening with a patterned effect adjoining the body of the garment. Formerly owned by Margaret (Nell) Timbs nee Heider who worked at Hanro in the Finishing Department about 1935. Donated by her daughter Yvonne Knipe who worked at Hanro in the Office from 1961, then at John Brown until 1968.Tag. Swiss inspired Hanro. SW. Pure Wool. Mothproof. Original label still attached. Clothing - GRAYDON COLLECTION: BODICE, 1870-1890
Clothing. Women's black embossed silk bodice. Part of two piece set (skirt 11410.2). Stand up lace collar (7 cm) boned on either side and edged with cream coloured lace. Collar fastened at centre back with three metal hooks and eyes. Front opening left of centre fastened with eight metal hooks and cotton loops and three across the left shoulder. Crossover section at front is pin tucked below the neckline and is tapered into the waist with centre pleats. Both sides of the crossover have decorative beading along the edges. The inner layer of the bodice is fastened at centre front with 15 metal hooks and eyes - alternating directions. The bodice is shaped from the waist with 9 boned casings. The back is shaped in at the waist finishing with two U shaped tails (11cm X 8cm) with V shaped tails (4 cm X 6cm) on either side. The waistline and tails are finished with a double row of decorative black beading. At the waistline at centre back are three metal hooks to attach bodice to skirt. Long sleeves are gathered at the shoulder, shaped at the elbow tapering to the wrist. Below the wrist is a two piece cuff (13cm X 7cm) with decorative black beading. The bodice is fully lined with light brown cotton fabric with grey splash pattern. Historical Notes: This bodice and skirt belonged to Elizabeth Graydon (nee Richardson). Clothing. Women's cream coloured cotton vest with fold over collar at front edged with gold coloured cord. Deep V neckline at front. Centre front opening is fastened with six X 1 cm white buttons with gold pattern, and six button holes. On each side of the front opening are three fleur de lys patterns of appliquéd cord in brown, gold and cream. The lower edge of the front sections are edged with gold coloured cord.
