The fountain was erected at the entrance to the Village Green in Sunbury adjacent to the corner of O'Shanassy and Brook Streets in 2017. It replaced a former one that had been damaged. In past times a fountain was erected in the middle of the intersection of O'Shanassy, Stawell and Brook Streets but was relocated to a memorial reserve within the Village Green.For many years a fountain stood near the present one and has been feature in the Sunbury township.
