The reader was the second in the series commenced in 1951 and was the official reading text for Grade 1 in all Victorian schools. This series of texts replaced an earlier set of Victorian Readers that were used in schools from 1924. The were all produced and published by the Victorian Education Department and were gradually phased out in the 1980s when different methods of teaching reading were introduced.A school reader with a cardboard cover bound on the spine with two staples. Edmondson pasteboard railway ticket, No. 14, dated 25 April 1974, for use on a Ballarat Tramway Preservation Society special train from Morwell to Mirboo North and return. See Reg. item 1819 for S circular or Special Train Notice for the tour. Ticket base is off white with eight light orange vertical bands equally spaced along the ticket, which is printed in landscape format. Notes as being "Available by Goods Train each way on day of issue only.", for Adult - Economy and Adult - Economy. Ticket number in reverse printing. Has a number of parked vehicles in kerbs, two people riding horses, a Vacuum Oil Co. truck in the bottom right hand corner and an SEC tram travelling west, just past the City Loop points. Twenty Seven page printed document on foolscap paper to be used as the form basis for authorising a local government council to supply power within a given area. Document has spaces for the various signatures, seals, schedules and Order No. Order was granted by the Governor in Council under the electric light and power ACT of 1928. Has definitions, including railways and tramways. Schedule three allows for details of tramways and railways. Has space for the Minister in charge of Electrical Undertakings to sign the order. Has form number of 10679/40 in bottom left hand corner - therefore it has been assumed that form is printed in 1940. Stapled in the top left hand corner.
