Book - 28 pages, colour covers with colour and black white photos titled "Ballarat's Heritage Tramway", Tells the story of the Ballarat Tramways and the Ballarat Tramway Preservation Society. Written by W. F. Scott for the BTPS in 1993. Was an update of previous versions. Covers the history of the horse trams, the electrification by the Electric Supply Co. of Victoria, (ESCo) the takeover by the State Electricity Commission of Victoria (SECV), closure in 1971, the formation of the BTPS and the operation of the tramway. Includes a list of the Museum tramcars at the time, details of the trams, many photos and a map of the system, depot layouts. Images of each page included in the image file. References to Ballarat spelt with 'aa'. Has post office box number, but with box number in a different type face, almost handwritten. List of the depot allocation of Melbourne trams (MMTB) as at 1/1/1972, published early 1972 by the BTPS as a members service. Printed by typed wax stencil then duplicated, on both sides of a green sheet of foolscap paper. Gives the depot, tram numbers, summary of trams at each depot by class and total number, and those in storage and used for training. Also gives a summary of each class of tram and a total number on register (696), and abbreviations used for depots. Original of an instruction and notice that the City of Ballaarat approved the operation of the BTPS in Wendouree Parade from 6pm on 24/12/1974. Signed by Clyde Croft - then Secretary. Also instructs that all trams bound for Carlton St. must stop at depot junction. Notes that first tram ran out at 6pm was tram 26. In very poor condition. Guides Ballarat Tramway Preservation Society conductors about their duties, ticket issuing, pay-ins sales etc. Was the first version of this document. Prepared by Peter Walker. The first version was issued 1/11/1989. see item 8875. Was collected from the depot 1/2001 when a new version of the Guidelines was issued. In use from c1990 to 2001 as a sample copy and loaned to new conductors. Document originally prepared by Peter Walker, who passed away 24/9/2005 - see Reg Item 6838 for Obituary.Demonstrates BTPS documentation for crew use.Folder containing in plastic sheets, the 1/5/1990 version of the Ballarat Vintage Tramway Operating Guidelines.
