The two storey building in the photograph is the Royal Hotel. The original single storey hotel was damaged by fire in the 1930s so the double storey red brick building replaced it on the same site, which is at the intersection of Evans and Brook Streets. For many years the MIllett family owned and ran the hotelThe Royal Hotel is one of four hotels that operated in Evans Street between Station and Brook Streets. Only two of those hotels are operating on their original sites. The Sunbury Leisure Centre in Elizabeth Drive was built as a community learning and activity centre for many local groups in Sunbury. It was completed in 1980 and officially opened on 25th February 1981 by the Premier of Victoria Hon. One of the last houses to face demolition.Single fronted weatherboard with striped veranda blind, brick chimney over front rooms with TV aerial. Green painted walls. Red painted iron roof over veranda and under veranda rail. Adjacent to Target entrance.The 'Miss Stayput' house in the car park out the front of Target in Camberwell. You can even see the Target logo on the building. The house was owned by Mary Campigli, who defied the council order to move, and won her case in court. She stayed in the house, surrounded by a car park until she died in 1983 at the age of 94. The house was finally demolished soon after.

Car park after Miss Martin's houses were removed through to Dudley Street, 1999The Margaret Ball (Pre 1960s Houses) Collection was a personal project initiated to mark the year 2000 and arose as a result of the disappearance of many pre-1960s parts of Eltham due to development. Approximately 200 pre-1960s style houses that were left in Eltham between Main Road and east to Bible Street, between Cecil Street to the north and south to Dalton Street were photographed in late 1999.
