Historical information

The photograph shows the railway station at Sunbury in Surrey in the United Kingdom. The town of Sunbury in Victoria was named after the English township of Sunbury-on-Thames in Middlesex by the Jackson Brothers who took up land in Sunbury, Victoria. The area was originally known as Koora Kooracup by the Wurundjeri people.

Sunbury in Victoria like many other settlements in Australia were given names of towns in the United Kingdom
