It is covered in a drab olive felt cloth. It has a narrow raised neck with a cork stopper. 2. Carrier water bottle. This is a narrow leather strip of about 1/2" (12.5mm) width. Relates to "Edmond (Tim) Grey Bates" RAAF 20841. Enlisted 30/5/41. Discharges 30/6/45. Cpl. 1 Wireless & Gunnery School. Pacific Star awarded for Service in WW2. War medal was for all who served in the armed services or Merchant Navy in WW2. Australian Service medal was specific to Australian Citizens.Four WW2 Service Medals. 1. 1939-45 Star. 6 pointed Star of yellow copper and zinc alloy with a dark blue, red and light blue ribbon. Attached to a ring at the top. 2. Pacific Star - 6 pointed star of copper and zinc alloy with a small ring at top and colours on ribbon of red, dark blue, green, yellow, cream, dark blue and red. 3. The name "HOLLOWAY' regarding RAAF - only one possible name for WW2.Jacket - dark blue colour wool serge fabric. This jacket has been adapted from a RAAF Service dress jacket to resemble a RAAF Battle Dress Jacket. possibly made in the Norther Territory or on the Islands WW2. Collar, shoulder epaulettes, long sleeves with cuffs and buttons, two front patch pockets with concealed button flaps. Waistband with belt strap and metal slide buckle to fasten jacket. Selarang Incident was where Japanese Forces pressured Allied POW's to sign "No Escape" promise on threat of death. This yearly effort was conducted from 12.11.1998 - 12.12.1998. At the bottom of each page are details re pick up and delivery of tickets and stocking. The raffle was conducted from 3 different selling points. The names on the roster are a who's who of the RSL at the time, except for two names all the sellers were WW2 era members being a list of President current, ex Presidents, Life members, Committee and notables. The hand written notes were by Jack Barnes OAM.
