Flyer includes extract from "The Sun" 30/10/1924. "Ringwood has been created a Borough with capital value of £680,000. In 1908 there were 173 houses, 8 shops and 720 people. In 1918 the respective figures were 520, 45 and 2,080. For twelve months ended June, 1924, £51,000 worth of Home Sites were sold and £26,000 worth of new buildings were erected. Outward (train) passenger journeys have increased from 94,000 in 1919 to 182,000 in 1923. Saddle
This saddle formerly belonged to MAX ARMSTRONG a WW2 ex-serviceman and a Frankston RSL Sub Branch member. Max and other ex-service officers were members of a volunteer Light Horse Mounted Section who, for many years, rode at the head of the annual Melbourne ANZAC Day commemoration March, leading the marching troops. At the completion of the march the Light Horse Mounted Section would visit the Memorial Horse Trough near the north east corner of the Shrine of Remembrance for a brief service paying tribute to Australian war horses.A WW1 era Australian Light Horse riding saddle. The saddle is a 1915 pattern Officers riding saddle, made of leather and is complete. The saddle is displayed on a wooden frame. -

Memorabilia - Book, New Testament
Small pocket book size New Testament with a glossy black, embossed, hard cover. This edition was published by the British and Foreign Bible Society, London in 1885, printed by Oxford University Press. The first page is stamped by the Thames Church Mission, instituted in 1844. This was carried by WW1 serviceman J D H Wilson, service number 608, 12th Btn., AIF. Known as 'Jack' he landed at Gallipoli early on the morning of 25th April, 1915. Wilson, who was wounded in the foot at the landing was embarked on the 28th April to recuperate in England after a foot amputation. The first page has an oval shaped stamped inscription with the following "THAMES CHURCH MISSION", "INSTITUTED 1844" and "30, New Bridge St., E.C." -
