Persons who were discharged because of misconduct and those who were in a reserved occupation, were not eligible for the badge. This badge was awarded to Ernest Henry Swan. Badges ...Set of four driver / conductor traffic numeral badges or personnel employee numbers and one brass MMTB button. .1 - Badge number, MMTB style, "1453", plated brass to give a gold finish with the numbers fixed to a bar top and bottom and two lugs on the rear to clip into a cap. Made by Stokes and Sons Melbourne - has been stamped onto the rear. .2 - ditto - engraved into a layered plastic backing - black plastic with a white underlay, used by tram crews to indicate their assigned personal employee number. Later MMTB prior to The Met type.
