Certificate on quarto size paper, issued by the BTPS Co-operative Limited to Warren Doubleday certifying that 200 shares, number 9776 to 9975 had been issued on 26/2/1979. Printed in green ink with an image of SEC tram No. 31 at the top of the paper. Certificate No. 87. Signed by Nancy Kierath as Director and G. Netherway as Director and ?? as Secretary. Has BTPS Co-operative Limited Seal stamped adjacent to the signatures. Share Certificate Issues by the BTPS Co-Op to raise funds for the construction of the depot. Functional Object - Trolley Wire Sample
Worn piece of old trolley wire (330mm long) of 89mm2 (?) cad copper wire. Taken from an old wire joiner within depot to be used as a sample of worn wire for use in ceremony of new trolley wire hand over on 26/11/96, when Victorian Minister of Transport, Alan Brown handed over new Trolley wire (2km) to Museum. Yields information about early publicity methods and pamphlets of the Ballarat Tramway Preservation Society and the spelling of Ballarat with double a's, which was not adopted by the BTPS organisation.Green sheet printed as an early pamphlet for the Ballarat Tramway Preservation Society, titled "Don't forget what a tram looks like!" Printed soon after Society established. Gives address of BTPS. Note highly distributed due to the spelling of the word "Ballarat" with two "a's" - Ballaarat. Has a sketch of a bogie tram on the pamphlet. Was used as note paper in the depot for many years. Object 3656 was found with item 3655 - possibly recording who donated item 3655 originally - C. H. Has a strong association with the opening of the depot extensions by the local member of state parliament and the BTPS work in celebrating the 10th year of the closure of the Ballarat Tramway system.Newspaper clipping from the Courier dated 21/9/1981, mounted on a sheet of an A4 sheet of scrap paper from a the Forestry department titled "Evans opens tramways extensions". Article notes the official opening of the BTPS extensions to the tramway depot my Mr. Tom Evans MLA on the Saturday 19/9. Quotes Mr Evans, Ballarat Mayor Cr. A.E. Set of two colour prints of the presentation of the BTPS Raffle prize held during 1981 to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the closure of the Ballarat Tramway System. 3095.2 was used as a black and white print on the rear cover of the 1981 - 1982 Annual Report. The caption read: "The Raffle: Secretary, Richard Gilbert, (RIGHT) receives the winning ticket from Mr. Ian Gilbert of Malvern Tram Depot and congratulates him on winning our fund raising raffle. Demonstrates the way the SEC advised passengers in Ballarat and Bendigo how the fare and charges systems worked and yielded information about the fare charges in force at the time. A copy was provided in each tram behind framed glass.Dyeline print of a drawing showing Ballarat Tramway (SEC) Fares, Charges, and Section Map. Also gives charges for Scholar's Monthly tickets, Luggage, Parcels, Newspapers and Chartered trams. Originally dated November 1955, amended January 1962. All fares in shillings and pence. Titled - "Schedule of Fares and Charges - January 1962" See Reg Item 1731 for the following one, which this version amended again and 4136 for the November 1955 version. Two additional copies found in depot collection 1/2011, added 5/1/2011. Has a pencil inscription "Fares didn't increase to 1/3/63" along site the date. Sheet aluminium sign, red metal primer on rear of, off white painted on front, with red and black painted with this sheet steel(?) attachments, riveted to aluminium and folded so that a sheet of paper or prepared numbers could be slipped in. Used to indicate cash shortages of Conductors for the last week and lowest week for the year. $ sign in block paint, otherwise in red paint. Appears to have been set up for decimal currency. Printed form on off white paper titled "M&MTB Conductor's Pay in slip", form number 3/135, dated February 1966, at the time of the conversion of the Australian currency to the decimal system. Sign, painted onto a MMTB auxiliary destination board of the type that could hang on the front of a Melbourne tram car with the words "Fitzroy Football Ground" and "Sth Melb Football Ground" Black letters on a yellow background. The bottom right hand corner of the Sth Melbourne face has the letters "E.P." indicating the depot that it belonged to - East Preston. South Melbourne Football Ground Metal sign, fitted with metal hanging brackets, riveted to sign on both sides.
