Beautiful example of academic book prize gifted by Clarendon Ladies College to Janie Jebb (CLC 1882). Donated to school by her grandson Robert Tunbridge, son of Basil Tunbridge (BC 1916) in 2011. Socially significant because of the value placed on religious education and academic prowess amongst girls in the late 19th century in an Australian country town. The artist, Clifton Pugh, grew up in Briar Hill. He served in WWII and settled at Cottles Bridge, building his own house and forming Dunmoochin artist colony. He married three times and had two sons.
