In 1999, as part of the VicHealth sponsorship programs, Arthritis Victoria partnered with the Ethnic Communities' Council of Victoria (ECCV) and the Department of Human Services (DHS) to promote the 'Active for Life' message through various sports and arts groups. On Wednesday, October 20, 1999, World Osteoporosis Day (WOD), Osteoporosis Victoria conducted a morning of physical activities with the Year 9 students at Shelford Girls' Grammar School in Caulfield. Titled, "Come & Try Day", the activities on offer included abseiling, golf, table tennis, Tai Chi, football, and indoor lawn bowls.
