The annual volunteers' celebration, which ...On the 5th of December 1997, the Arthritis Foundation of Victoria recognised several of its volunteer members with Long Service and Oustanding Service Awards. The annual volunteers' celebration, which coincided with International Volunteers' Day, was held at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG). Lou Richards (1923-2017), former player and captain of the Collingwood football team, was the special guest MC. In this photo, Lou Richards is captured in a candid shot whilst seated at a table. The event is briefly mentioned on page 6 of the 1997 Annual Report in an article titled, 'Volunteer Co-Ordination'.
