Demonstrates the badge used by the SEC for free travel on the trams.Stamped enameled round brass piece with an area of solder on the rear indicating where a retaining ring had been placed after the original ring at the top has been broken off. Has the SEC logo in the centre, organisational name (State Electricity Commission of Victoria) in white enamelled and outer ring the words "Electricity Supply Department, Provincial Tramways". Set of 14 mixed SEC and BTPS tickets donated to the BTM as a set 1/7/2001. Tickets except for the BTPS ones have note been used. The image file shows the group of tickets. Tickets have not been individually numbered with the Registration Number, but can be identified by their ticket number and denomination. Most of the SEC tickets have the SEC logo "Electricity makes life easier! and small boy wrapped in a towel on the back, unless otherwise noted. Demonstrates the detail of the uniform of tramway/motorman workers.1940 - Cap Badge for a "Motorman". Made from a cast brass item, nickel plated to indicate the position held by the wearer on their cap as part of their uniform. Cast in the form of the handwritten or script word/s and underlined. On the rear, silver soldered on are two brass loops at either of the badge to enable it to be sewn or fitted with clips onto the cap. On the back of the back of the badge in very small letters is the name of the manufacturer - Stokes & Sons / Melbourne. Same manufacturers logo as in Reg Item 1937. Part of the ESCo company and possibly early SEC uniform. ESCo employee number on a special lapel bade - see Reg. item 1952. Not used by the SEC from 1940 - employee number on the cap but early SEC uniforms show them on the collar of the jacked - not known if this uniform adopted. See Reg. Item 1368 for photos of early SEC uniform showing badge on the neck.
