During World War I, while traditional tapestry-making wasn't widespread among soldiers, there were remarkable examples of improvised textile and craft work sent home to their loved ones and families. This is a rare example made by Pte Albert Jackson to his wife Jean. Prior to joining the Army, Albert worked as a quarryman. He and his wife lived at 77 Alexander Street Seddon.
