This silk cloth souvenir is a classic piece of commercial made World War I memorabilia. The provenance of the item, who and where it was purchased in Egypt is unknown, but it is most likely purchased by an Australia soldier and sent back to his loved ones and family in Australia.
Physical description
A silk colour printed panel with a light blue fringe mounted in a wooden frame with glass.
The printed panel displays the Sphinx, the three pyramids of Gaza, a man on a camel and various leaders of World War I.
From bottom left clockwise, the Images of World War 1 Leaders of various countries and their flags are;
