Students attended Sunday School classes at the Kergunyah Presbyterian Church. Sunday school was held in a little 16 foot square wooden building which came from Rocky Valley after it was no longer needed there. Ewen Wallace's father initiated and organised the move. C2011 the building was knocked down because of white ants. It is a biography composed of a series of translations; except for the earliest years, which Luther could not narrate himself, the translator rarely needed to speak in his own voice. The English subject edition is Michelet's French compilation that was first published in Paris in 1835 as Mémoires de Luther, écrits par lui-même and rendered into English by William Hazlitt (1811–1893). The work traces Luther from his peasant origins and monastic life through his ordination, his journey to Rome, his "temptations" and inner spiritual crises, his break with the papacy, his marriage to the escaped nun Katharina von Bora, and his role at the centre of the Reformation, largely in his own recorded voice, framed by Michelet. Tintern Anglican Girls Grammar School won the tournament’s regional finals and will advance to the state finals in October. The team’s mission was to design a board game using limited materials. Armed with only four batteries, wires, foil, buzzers, torch globes, magnets, nails, wood, elastic bands and plastic containers the team went to work. Students Cassie McGannon, Margaret Steel, Kristen Borland, Mercia Howard, Heather Shortage, Kristen Palmer and Caitlin Gardiner spent six weeks working on the maths and engineering challenge. Luther College’s team members Martin Hoffmann, Jemma McEwen, Belinda Lee, Chris Sanzaro, Tim Syratt, Todd Webber and Kylie Smith came second. The winning teams from all categories will meet again on October 8 at Monash University to compete in the state trials before going on to the national trials in Adelaide later this year.
