The destination on the closest car appears to read "Race Course". Staff are all dressed in the first uniform of the M&MTB including caps and tunics with silver or brass buttons up to the neck. The location is the first Preston Depot opposite the future Preston Workshops. This depot and tramways were built by the Fitzroy, Northcote and Preston Tramways Trust but taken over by the M&MTB in 1920 before operations began.
