In the early 1990s, the Arthritis Foundation of Victoria began to develop educational programs that would be more accessible to Culturally And Linguistically Diverse (CALD) communities. In one example, volunteer course leaders from the Vietnamese community were trained to deliver the course content in their own language. In the late 1990s, Arthritis Victoria undertook a Rural Access Pilot Project over a period of two years. In June 1999, during the final phase of the project, the Mildura Rural Access Pilot Project Task Force held a meeting. On the 17th of October, 2000, Arthritis Victoria (incorporating Osteoporosis Victoria) held a seminar on World Osteoporosis Day (WOD). The event was held at the Glen Eira Town Hall Auditorium. 200 participants attended the seminar, which included guest speakers and information displays. The event was a partnership between Arthritis Victoria and the City of Glen Eira. In the early 1990s, the Arthritis Foundation of Victoria developed various programs to make information about arthritis more accessible to Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD) communities. In 1993, an Arthritis Self Help Course with trained leaders from the Vietnamese community was developed. On the 17th of October, 2000, Arthritis Victoria (incorporating Osteoporosis Victoria) held a seminar on World Osteoporosis Day (WOD). The event was held at the Glen Eira Town Hall Auditorium. 200 participants attended the seminar, which included guest speakers and information displays. In May 2003, Arthritis Victoria (AV) held a seminar for its self help groups in the northern metropolitan region. This photo depicts Dr Graeme Pollock making his presentation at the Northern Metro Self Help Group Seminar. In 1985, Members of the Hawthorn/Camberwell Self-Help Group celebrated the group's 10th Birthday. A slightly cropped version of this photo appears on page 8 of the No 37, August 1985 issue of the Arthritis Foundation of Victoria's quarterly newsletter, News Review.
