Black and white photograph of the interior a W2 end saloon showing the longitudinal seats upholstered in leather. Photo taken at Preston Workshops, shows interior fit out at the time of construction, with central strap hangers (leather), light fittings. Tram would appear to have been service for some time as it is fitted with advertisements and M&MTB posters. Destination City, 4th Edition page 42 notes that W2 329, 331, 332, 335 were fitted with leather seating in 1929. Demonstrates the use of horse trams as trailers after the start of the electric trams in Ballarat and the street scape and tramway loading at the same time.B&W print of an ESCo tram just past the intersection of Doveton St. and Sturt St. travelling east along the north side of Sturt. Steet towing a heavily laden horse tram as a trailer. Photo appears to be taken soon after opening of the electric trams, as the tram does not have any destination box above the driver. Possibly summer 1905/1906. Numerous people in the street, some horse drawn vehicles in the photograph. Shows buildings along the south side of Sturt St. and part of the verandah of the building at the NE corner of Doveton St. On textured photographic paper. Framed certificate or presentation to Ron Scholten when he retired from Malvern depot in 2011 after 32 years of service for the tramways. Titled "Ron Scholten - This is your life", outline's Ron's tramway life as a young enthusiast, work at 332 Flinders St (the Shoe shop), TMSV, MMTB, trip to Germany for Siemens. Printed onto sheets with tram photos top or bottom, has been framed with a black cardboard trimmed for the sheets of paper. Set of two colour prints taken on the last day of operation, of the Hawthorn Tram depot as a running depot in the evening. The photographer is not known. Possibly a copy print. 1 - looking at operations in Wallen Road with W2 353 (Hawthorn route 27) returning to the depot and two W2s (possibly 330 and 332) shunting in Wallen Road. 2 - SW6 855 and SW6 848 are on roads 5 and 6 in the "new" shed at Hawthorn. The depot ceased as a running shed on 14/2/1965.
