28 books - SECV Annual Report covering the financial year with Appendices from March 1919 to June 1920 to year ending June 1948. Presented to Parliament pursuant to section 35 (b). The Victorian government owned the electrical company in Victoria supplying electricity for lighting of public buildings, street lighting and electrical trams. Brown coal was the main source of supply. The SECV commenced on 10th January 1921 having earlier been known as the Electricity Commissioners in 1919-1921. The SEC was privatised in the 1990s. The Kiewa Scheme was approved in 1937 but its start was delayed due to WWII. The reports include references to Kiewa Hydro Electric Scheme early on. The papers are a primary source as they were presented to Parliament as true documents and hence valuable for research.Foolscap pages held togeether by 2 or 3 staples at the spine.The cardboard cover is a blue grey with printed black title. Bendigo Tramways has been in operation since June 1890. From that time, the citizens of Bendigo have experienced battery, steam and electric trams. Over the years Bendigo’s trams have become intrinsically entwined with the city’s identity and the community that they serve. In October 1888 the Sandhurst & Eaglehawk Tramway Company was formed. Construction of a 6.4km long tram line between Eaglehawk and the Bendigo Railway Station commenced soon afterwards. Half-hourly services using battery powered trams commenced in June 1890. Bendigo tram tickets - variousDemonstrates a variety of tickets used by Bendigo Tramways in Victoria, and the variety of punch marks used to differentiate conductors, days Mon - Fri, etc.A collection of Bendigo Tramways ticket memorabilia. Pocket 1 - Letter Carrier's tickets. The tickets are printed in black ink on a cream paper. All cover the same destinations and are issued by the Electricity Supply Department for the State Electricity Commission of Victoria - Bendigo Branch. Pocket 2 - Nipping impressions of Weekly Ticket Punches used on the golden Square route. Pocket 3 - Bendigo Tramways Co. Ltd - 3d ticket. The three tickets have a value of 3d each. They feature an illustration of the Bendigo Tram, with the 3d price, printed in green ink on cream paper. There is a large Capital T printed in black ink. Pocket 4 - SECV Provisional Tramways books of tickets - Book 1 is incomplete and has every ticket stamped "Bendigo Trams Last Day 16th April 1972 in red ink on the ticket face.
