These tickets are weekly tickets ...Following the complete closure of the St Kilda - Brighton Electric street railway (tramway) in 1959, the Brighton St Kilda Bus lines operated a service under a contract with the Victorian Railways with a joint ticketting arrangement. These tickets are weekly tickets for various locations along the former tramway. Those tickets available for Melbourne have the conditions of travel on the rear. The two vertical stripes indicated that the ticket was available to pass through the gates at Flinders St or Spencer St, while the large cross indicated to a ticket checker that the ticket was not available beyond St Kilda station or to pass through a set of gates. All printed on a off white card. Details the new style of ESCo weekly tickets to be used in Ballarat from Monday 7/2/1927, where two types of tickets were used - Morning and Evening Tickets and Lunch Hour Tickets. Gives instructions on their use, advantages, colours, fraud protection, schedule of timing when tickets issued against the various run numbers on page 3. Page four, titled "Instructions for Conductors re New Weekly Return Tickets and Weekly Tickets" gives instructions re the issuing of 4d return tickets, a new 3d return ticket and how the colours varied with each day. Notes when the tickets will be collected by the clerk for runs 13 and 14. See Reg. Sets out conditions, current sales and notes. .2 - set of two Foolscap ruled sheets - titled "Weekly Tickets" detailing where they would be sold (the Showroom), the method of sales and accounting practices and when it can be used, reflects back to 1921 practices. Has a hand written section on the rear on the first sheets (images i2 to i4) .3 - single foolscap ruled sheet with further notes on weekly tickets (in light red ink), with two possible sketches of possible tickets on the rear in pencil. Morning and Evening Weekly Ticket, price 1/3, printed for Week 1, that is not available for Sundays or Holidays. Ticket printed on light weight card, in two diagonally, light green and teal, numbered 0076 available only between Queen St and Doveton St. Notes the conditions of use, the time available for which the ticket may be used and where. Printed by J.J. Miller, Melbourne. In the bottom right hand corner has a perforated triangular section which could be removed. Has the words "P.M. Friday" printed on it.
