Two people are walking around ...In partnership with Arthritis Victoria (incorporating Osteoporosis Victoria), the Western Regional Health Service conducted a seminar on musculoskeletal health for the Vietnamese community. The event was held on the 18th of March, 2003 at the Western Region Health Centre in Braybrook. Speakers included Phong Nguyen (President of the Vietnamese Community), Vicki Andrew (Aged Care and Disability Services Coordinator), and Dr Peter Wong (Rheumatologist). A Q & A session was also held with a panel of health professionals. Facilitated by Trinh Nguyen, the panel included Dr Hoang Tran (GP), Sharon Miller (Dietician), Lily Radcliff (Physiotherapist), and Jane Hawke (Physical Activities officer at Arthritis Victoria). A Vietnamese dance troupe provided entertainment during the lunch break. The day ended with a "Tai Chi for Arthritis" workshop and a strength training class. They are located ...In 1993, the Arthritis Foundation of Victoria (AFV) celebrated its 25th anniversary. Formerly known as the Rheumatic and Arthritis Association of Victoria (RAAV), the organisation was founded in 1968 by Rheumatologist, Dr Leslie Koadlow AO (1920-2006), with the assistance and support of his secretary, Alice Petty (-1995), and one of his patients, Mollie Riches (1896-1979). The anniversary celebrations were held at the historic Como House and Garden. Built in 1847 by the Armytage family, Como House is located on the corner of Williams Rd and Lechlade Ave, South Yarra, on Wurundjery Woiwurrung Country. In this photo, Dr Koadlow presents a bouquet of flowers to his former secretary and co-founder, Alice Petty (-1995). They are on the grounds of Como House, with the large two-storey house in the background.
