On the right, the buildings are E H Nicholls ("cheap grocer and seedsman"), the Surface Hill Hotel, Richard Ching's store and dwelling (grocer & produce merchant), and another shop without verandah (probably shop and dwelling owned by Annie Brown, née Nicholls).Original black and white photograph affixed to white backing paper which has then been mounted on grey card. The photograph shows the view along Sussex Street to the south-west. ... Neil Wishart, born 1828 in Scotland, established ...Neil Wishart, born 1828 in Scotland, established a blacksmith's business at this site in Linton around 1858. Part of the original forge building can be seen on the left of the photograph. The extension to the original building which is the main focus of this photograph was added at an unknown later date. This building was still being operated as a forge by the Wishart family in the 1970s. This photograph was taken by Gary Hunt in 2014.One of three colour photographs printed on a single sheet of photographic paper. The photograph shows an unpainted weatherboard building with several small-paned windows and a double door which appears to have been built from wooden planks. The building has a somewhat rusted corrugated iron roof.wishart's forge, linton forge
