Historical information
Neil Wishart, born 1828 in Scotland, established a blacksmith's business at this site in Linton around 1858.
Part of the original forge building can be seen on the left of the photograph. The extension to the original building which is the main focus of this photograph was added at an unknown later date. This building was still being operated as a forge by the Wishart family in the 1970s. This photograph was taken by Gary Hunt in 2014.
