Prior to 1948 the RAAF used the British RAF flag . In December 1948 King George V1 proclaimed the new, uniquely Australian design to be used by the RAAF. It featured a smaller roundel with a slightly tilted southern cross and 7 pointer star, similar to the Australian Flag, on a sky blue background. This ensign was used until 1982 when the red dot in the roundelwas replaced by the image of a kangaroo. This flag was stored in the Nhill RSL Australian flag with sky blue background, with roundel in bottom RH corner.

This yellow peacekeeper's brassard was worn by Lt Damien Batty whilst on Peace Keeping duty on Bougainville The Peace Monitoring Group (PMG) on Bougainville in Papua New Guinea was brought about by the civil unrest on the island in 1989.[1] The PNG government requested the Australian and New Zealand governments to provide a monitoring group to oversee the cease fire on the island. This group was made up of both civilian and defence personnel from Australia, New Zealand, Fiji and Vanuatu. Both sides of the conflict welcomed the group being on Bougainville. This support remained strong throughout the PMG's deployment. Adrian Costa is the second of four brothers who grew up at Falls Creek, attended school there and at Mt Beauty and were members of the Falls Creek Race Club. He started skiing at the age of three. Costa started competing in moguls around age 16 and ‘specialised’ in this field two years later. In 1991 he entered in the International Youth Championships in Le Sauze, where he finished second. His impressive career included competing in the World Cup from 1992 until 2003, representing Australia in the Winter Olympics in 1992 Albertville, 1994 Lillehammer, 1998 Nagano and in 2002 Salt Lake City where he was given the honour of carrying the Australian Flag in the Opening Ceremony. In total, Adrian Costa made 126 World Cup starts between 1991 and 2003, placing 31 times in the top-10 and seven times in the top-5. The Australian Red Ensign is a variant flag of Australia. This flag was probably used for a patriotic purpose in Ballarat, such as the end of World War One. The Red Ensign was the only flag private citizens could fly on land.
