Fitted to carriages and tramcar bodies built by Benjamin Carne in Strathfield NSW. The central saloon section of ESCo No. 12 was built by this builder in 1892 as a North Sydney cable tram - see Conservation Plan for ESCo 12. Understood that he went bankrupt and moved to South Africa. Located by descendents and donated to the Museum August 2026. Has not been used.Demonstrates a builders plate or plaque used by a carriage builder to mark their products.Oval enameled metal plaque or plate with black text on a white background, reading "B.
