A gold coloured metal Junior Legacy Club badge patch that was given to Junior Legatees. Date is unknown but probably from the 1950s or 1960s. This badge was donated to Legacy after it was found in an charity shop. It was photographed and sent to a former Junior Legatee as a replacement for their badge that had broken. The Bendigo & District Servicemen's Club was a Co Operative of the 3 Bendigo RSL Sub Branches. Roy Leslie Thurlow was a tireless worker for the Servicemen's Club, he was President 1984 - 85, 1988 - 89, he was made a life Member of in 1986. With the Bendigo RSL Sub Branch he served on the Committee from 1980 - 93, he was Jnr Vice President 3 years and 4 years as Snr Vice President. A favourite character of the show was the mischievous doll Gerry Gee and the Melbourne ventriloquist Ron Blaskett. A newspaper report the Financial Review (2 October 2001) recorded that: "Agents Jellis Craig sold the 2,583sq m East Kew Bowling Club on Windella Avenue for $1.55 million at an auction on the same day. Purchased by an offshore developer, the site is protected by an agreement which limits it to only six units or houses. The bowling club was one of 23 owned by the local Boroondara council, of which 10 have been closed down in the past 10 years. Some are used by community groups but several are derelict."One of the few pieces of memorabilia in the collection deriving from the East Kew Bowling Club.East Kew Bowling Club membership medallion. Bowling clubs are a popular sport enabling community members to socialise and exercise together. Members also have the opportunity to travel to other local clubs and beyond as a team representing their club, district, state or country.Tawonga Bowling Club is in the Kiewa Valley where Philip Reid lived. He was a member of the Club which was very active with lots of members and competitions. This cap was part of the uniform that bowlers used during competition - being cream and matching their cream uniform of trousers and shirt. Cream cap with 'Henselite' on the back. On the front ironed on a yellow and green emblem showing three black bowling balls with a white kitty in the middle.
