Lieutenant General Henry John Coates AC MBE was a senior officer in the Australian Army who served as Chief of the General Staff from 1990 to 1992. RSM-A WO1 Kevin ‘Lofty’ Wendt OAM BEM was the 2nd RSM to be appointed to the position of RSM-A, the most senior Warrant Officer position in the Australian Army. His appointment was from 1987 to 1990. The name of the CGS’s aide de camp officer is unknown. The CGS and RSM-A visit to the Army Survey Regiment is covered on page 145 of Valerie Lovejoy’s book 'Mapmakers of Fortuna – A history of the Army Survey Regiment’ ISBN: 0-646-42120-4. Returned to the depot 4/9/2019. Found that the springs were too strong for the mechanism - they have been secured with plastic cable ties - do not undo they could cause serious injury. The pendulum was too long - shortened by 72mm, consists of an oval shaped piece of wood and sealed. Notes from Graeme: 1 - wind both springs at the same time 2 - always wind the hands forward to adjust the time 3 - the timing mechanism can be set by hand, the time is on the opposite side to that shown on the case.trams, tramways, bundy clock -
