Dr Lisa ANDERSON (1958- ) Dr Anderson’s research questions environmental issues that impact on the social structures of communities and their mapped or metaphysical borders. She develops projects around ways of understanding the effects of climate change. These include work with folklore, legends and religions that tell stories of coping with weather, forced migration of animals and people and coping with difference. She has undertaken international residency programs and exhibitions in the Arctic, Iceland, Paris, Norway, London and China, and she was the first Artist in Residence at the Australian Museum. These unique opportunities continue an extensive art practice of installation work, video, photography and sculpture. Anderson has an extensive record of exhibitions in Australia and overseas with work included in both private and corporate collections. Her exhibitions include Journeys: Due North, a large installation work that includes work created over a 10-year period of engagement in expedition and science work North of the Arctic Circle. Beneath the Beauty of Architecture, an exhibition at her London Gallery, Bicha, used images created in China, Nunuvut Territory in Canada and the Antarctic while working with the migration stories of survival. Dr Anderson has created many large scale artworks that challenge notions of occupation of the City, including Writing the City, a three-year program of installation works to shift the use of Sydney to being a city of public space in its pre-Olympic development. Singing up Stones celebrated the people who created and use the Opera House and the Quay for performance and ideas. This included the first image projection onto the Sydney Opera House, a projection onto the Sydney Harbour Bridge and a ballet of cruise liners with the sound simulcast on the local radio station. Two digital prints with acrylic on metal and bullet holes. This work is the result of research on the hidden voice of landscape undertaken by Dr Lisa Anderson while an Honorary Professor at Federation University Australia. lisa anderson, available

Walter Magilton's professional painting career is highlighted by numerous solo exhibitions, five of which have been in Great Britain. He has also won countless prizes, which include many 'Best in Show' awards. Walter is represented in a great number of private and corporate national and international collections, including ART Bank, in approximately twelve countries. This painting is a one of a series of approximately eight works of the river at Warrandyte and the local creeks, with particular emphasis on the reflections in the water and of the wattle growing along the banks. I was particularly inspired by Penleigh Boyde who did similar work while living in Warrandyte in the early 1920s.'Sunlight and Shadows, Warrandyte' is an oil on canvas painting depicting the Warrandyte landscape, featuring a winding creek with beautiful reflections cast upon it. The colour palate comprises muted green and earth tones, with a vivid aqua for reflective water.walter magilton, nillumbik, warrandyte

Hard cover book, The Victorian Statutes Vol 2 Author: Corporate Author “The Colony of Victoria” Publisher: John Ferres Government Printer Melbourne. Date: 1866 Three quarter leather, Olive Front Cover, Brown Spine with Gold embossed Title on spine & front cover "Collector of Customs Warrnambool"non-fictionBecause the subject item is a book of law, it would not traditionally have a singular author, but rather a corporate author, specifically the Colony of Victoria and, more precisely, the Parliament of Victoria. The Victorian Statutes of 1866 is an official compilation of the statute law of the Colony of Victoria, Australia, 'Published by Authority', and printed by John Ferres, who was the Victorian Government Printer at the time. Ferres was the printer/publisher, not an author or editor in the usual sense, as this is a government publication rather than an individually authored work.flagstaff hill, warrnambool, shipwrecked-coast, flagstaff-hill, flagstaff-hill-maritime-museum, maritime-museum, shipwreck-coast, flagstaff-hill-maritime-village, the victorian statutes vol 2 collectors of customs, book

Junction between front board and spine slightly exposed. Top section of leather on spine damaged. non-fictionThis volume is part of the first comprehensive consolidation of laws for the Colony of Victoria after it separated from New South Wales and established its own parliament. Specifically, Volume 5 (published in 1868) is dedicated to "A selection of the imperial statutes apparently in force in Victoria". Because Victoria was still a British colony, laws passed by the British (Imperial) Parliament in Westminster still applied locally if they hadn't been superseded by local Victorian colonial acts. Volume 5 was the legal handbook used by lawyers, judges, and government officials to determine exactly which British laws still governed colonial matters, ranging from shipping and trade to criminal law and merchant customs.flagstaff hill, warrnambool, shipwrecked coast, flagstaff hill maritime museum, maritime museum, shipwreck coast, flagstaff hill maritime village, great ocean road, book, pattison collection, warrnambool library, warrnambool mechanics’ institute, ralph eric pattison, corangamite regional library service, warrnambool city librarian, mechanics’ institute library, victorian library board, warrnambool books and records, warrnambool children’s library

Junction between front board and spine slightly exposed. non-fictionThis volume is part of the first comprehensive consolidation of laws for the Colony of Victoria after it separated from New South Wales and established its own parliament. Specifically, Volume 4 (published in 1866) contains Local Colonial Acts. These were laws debated, passed, and enacted right here in Melbourne by the newly formed Parliament of the Colony of Victoria. They dealt with purely domestic, local matters, such as Victorian land selection, goldfields regulations, local municipal boundaries, and colonial courts. Volume 4 was the handbook for everyday domestic Victorian life, governing how a local town council operated, how gold claims were filed, or how local debts were settled in a Victorian county court.flagstaff hill, warrnambool, shipwrecked coast, flagstaff hill maritime museum, maritime museum, shipwreck coast, flagstaff hill maritime village, great ocean road, book, pattison collection, warrnambool library, warrnambool mechanics’ institute, ralph eric pattison, corangamite regional library service, warrnambool city librarian, mechanics’ institute library, victorian library board, warrnambool books and records, warrnambool children’s library

The Victorian Statutes Vol 3 Various Legal Statues /Warrnambool Publisher: John Ferres Government Printer Melbourne Date: 1866 Further Information: Three quarter leather. Corners worn lettering in gilt. non-fictionThis volume is part of the first comprehensive consolidation of laws for the Colony of Victoria after it separated from New South Wales and established its own parliament. Specifically, Volume 3 is the final part of the core "Public and General" Victorian colonial laws. The first three volumes of the 1866 consolidation were organised alphabetically by legal topic. Volume 3 specifically contains all the major public acts running from P to W. Because it covers the tail end of the alphabet, it holds some of the most critical laws that built day-to-day society in 19th-century Victoria. These include: · Police Offences and Public Order: The legal frameworks for policing the goldfield boomtowns, managing public behaviour, and running early colonial prisons. · Public Works and Infrastructure: The acts authorising the construction of roads, bridges, and early municipal water supplies across the fast-growing colony. · Railways: The specific general legislation governing the expansion of Victoria's heavily subsidised, state-expanding railway networks. · Property and Land Transfer: Crucial laws managing land ownership, inheritance, and the foundational transfers of property as the colony shifted away from old squatter runs to permanent towns. · Wines, Beer, and Spirits: The colonial acts regulating the licensing of hotels and public houses, and managing the highly lucrative, tightly controlled alcohol trade.flagstaff hill, warrnambool, shipwrecked coast, flagstaff hill maritime museum, maritime museum, shipwreck coast, flagstaff hill maritime village, great ocean road, book, pattison collection, warrnambool library, warrnambool mechanics’ institute, ralph eric pattison, corangamite regional library service, warrnambool city librarian, mechanics’ institute library, victorian library board, warrnambool books and records, warrnambool children’s library

But a Maroondah City Council spokesman said the amount was so small it was not worth worrying about . Corporate Services Manager, Paul Roche, said it would cost ratepayers $2.40 each to cushion the properties which are paying differential rates after being included in Maroondah during council amalgamations.

The Margaret Ball (Pre 1960s Houses) Collection was a personal project initiated to mark the year 2000 and arose as a result of the disappearance of many pre-1960s parts of Eltham due to development. Approximately 200 pre-1960s style houses that were left in Eltham between Main Road and east to Bible Street, between Cecil Street to the north and south to Dalton Street were photographed in late 1999. Not all of the houses could be photographed; some because the garden or trees blocked the view of the house, others because of rubbish or cars were in the way, some because people were working on the house or in the gardens at the time.Colour photographic print eltham, houses, streets, margaret ball (pre 1960s houses) collection, carparks, arthur street
