The Wycheproof Craft Group emblem made by Mrs Elaine Storey depicts a large ram and showcases beautifully, wool colours and versatility of creator and medium used. The wool industry, since Wycheproof's settlement days, has greatly supported the town, families and farming in general.The wool picture is the emblem of a local group that met between 1977 and 2010.This item is aesthetically significant as a visually pleasing craft piece that demonstrates the adaptability of skills to raw materials.It is representative of the lifeblood of the town of Wycheproof for 145 years.A framed wool picture constructed entirely from natural fleece, showing a merino ram in a paddock with natural looking vegetation growth. An article about the Westerns Suburbs Widows Club and their activities in their clubrooms. Members of the group in the photo were Mary Coxon, Elsie Reynolds, Bess Allen, B Simonson, Hetty Allen and Irene Warren. They were in the craft group. Other activities include a sewing group and card afternoons. The article was cut from the newspaper and pasted into a scrapbook. For many years Legacy kept scrapbooks of press clippings that related to their work and publicity. The Wycheproof Court House Opened 24-9-1890.The Law Department Closed the Court House during the 1980s. The building became the home of the Wycheproof Craft Group and then the Wycheproof And District Historical Society. Financial support from Heritage Victoria enabled interior renovations to be completed in 2007.This is the only known photo of the Opening of the Wycheproof Court House.
