A family photograph is at the wedding of Vasilis and Louisa Papageorge which took place in New Zealand. To the right of the bride is Nick Razos and Peter Razos. The couple seated are Stathi and Chrisostomi Kandiliotis. Flower girl is Loula Polites, daughter of Ari and Nitsa Polites. A comparatively small number of Ithacans chose to settle in New Zealand following a similar migration patter to Melbourne. Denis Gibbons (1937 – 2011) Trained with the Australian Army, before travelling to Vietnam in January 1966, Denis stayed with the 1st Australian Task Force in Nui Dat working as a photographer. For almost five years Gibbons toured with nine Australian infantry battalions, posting compelling war images from within many combat zones before being flown out in late November 1970 after sustaining injuries. The images held within the National Vietnam Veterans Museum make up the Gibbons Collection. A black and white photograph of Digby Richards and his show entertain US troops at a Fire Support Base North East of Danang in Northern South Vietnam. The Presbyterian Church owned three lots of land bounded by Pakenham Road and the northern side of Dorchester Road, between 1927 and 1964. Providence House opened in 1927 as a peaceful country rest home for “tired mothers” from the inner suburbs, and their children. It was also used, at different times, for kindergarten groups and in 1955 for a girls Bible Class for Easter “studies, fun and fellowship.”Cockatoo had several guest houses which took paying guests.
