A Caponex Implanter was used to chemically castrate roosters by inserting a caponex implantation tablet into the neck of the of male chickens to make them grow faster and become more docile. The caponisation of poultry has since been banned in Australia and UK as the chemical remained within the birds which proved to be toxic to human consumption.Evidence of expired practices. Provelle is a hormone replacement drug.Two boxes of Provelle medication, unused. Boxes are made of carboard and are green in colour, with 'Provelle-28' printed at centre of top surface in large yellow lettering. Front of boxes are also printed with details of the ingredients of the medication, a Caution C4 warning, and the words 'STARTER PACK' repeated three times along the bottom edge. Back of boxes are printed with dosage instructions. One end of box is imprinted with a batch number and an expiry date - the expiry date for these items is 'AUG97'. Each box contains a consumer product information booklet and a strip of 28 tablets - 14 red and 14 white. Tablets are arranged in four rows of seven, with a red (top) and white (bottom) row on the top of the strip, and a white (top) and red (bottom) row on the bottom of the strip. Tablet strip is printed with dosage instructions at centre, and is printed with abbreviations for days of the week beneath each segment of two tablets.drugs

The first box in small bold font says, 'COMMONWEALTH OF AUSTRALIA' with a large space in between 'DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH', then below this in large bold font says, 'PENICILLIN COMMONWEALTH"'. Below this in fine print says '(Calcium Salt)', 'Suitable for parenteral injection', 'No antiseptic added'. Below this in bold print says, 'Set of 5 bottles, each bottle containing 100,000 Oxford Units/Prepared in the Commonwealth Serum Laboratories Royal Park, Victoria, Australia'. The Great Australian Rabbit Trapping Game A small match box sized game, the type that some would remember from their own childhood, except a plastic variety. This one was produced by the Sheldon Drug Company and inside the box, apart from the game mechanism, is an advertisement for a medicinal product sold by the company. The Sheldon Drug Company was established in 1904 and based in Sydney. The company manufactured products including cosmetics, soaps and other ointment-type items.Red cardboard box containing a game. The game is called 'Trapping Rabbits'. Lid of box has instructions for playing the game. Inside the box is a small metal oblong container with a narrow metal entry way. There are also two jumping bean 'rabbits'. Inside the box is also an advertisement for Dr. Sheldon's Digestive Tabules. The game was obtainable from Sheldon Drug Company Ltd. Sydney. JEREMAH CURTIS & BENJAMIN A. PERKINS: BITTERS & MEDICINE In 1848 Jeremah Curtis and Benjamin A. Perkins would become partners in a medical business. The business was located at No. 1 West End Kepduakong Bridge Banger, Maine. The business was called Curtis & Perkins Proprietors. By 1849 they started bottling Jeremah Curtis's mother-in-law, Mrs. Charlotte N. Winslow's syrup which she compounded from sulfate or morphia, sodium carbonate, spirits fueniculi and aqua ammonia. Mrs. Winslow was a physician and a nurse for children for about 30 years. This medicine was made for infants and was named Mrs. Winslow's Soothing Syrup. In time the name was changed to Anglo American Drug Company and was then run by J. Curtis and his son George N. Hyosine Hydrobromide, also known as scopolamine, is used to treat motion sickness and postoperative nausea and vomiting.Dr Mitchell Henry O'Sullivan worked in the Victorian country town of Casterton as a general practitioner from 1919 until his death in 1977. He also practiced obstetrics. His son, Dr David More O'Sullivan donated his obstetric bag and its contents to the College in 1999.
