The story covers mostly men of C Coy 38th Bn as well as others to give a broader pictutre. Edgar Stanbury MM as a C Coy Scout retrieved the maps from Capt G.A Dutton who was KIA. Stanbury then proceeded to keep reconnoitering towards Clery until they reached trenches near Clery Copse. The photos relate to the following, Jack Grinton, Bert Grinton, Edgar Stanbury, C.E. An honorary curate (1942-46) at St John’s Church, Rockdale, he married Beryl Ruth Knox, daughter of the rector, there on 3 October 1942. On 16 September he had been appointed as a temporary chaplain in the Royal Australian Navy, an event which he described as the determining factor in his future ministry. He served in HMAS Australia (1942-44) and in shore establishments before being demobilised in February 1946. In 1953 Craven-Sands joined the Missions to Seamen, Sydney, as senior chaplain, leading a team who worked for the spiritual and social welfare of seamen. This map was probably produced around the time that the Sovereign Hill Museums Association was established. A simple plan with black marking on paper. It shows the Sovereign Hill Recreation Rerserve, including the swimming pool located near the Sovereign Hill Trig Point, showers, toilets, kiosk, bandstand and pine trees.
