Grenville College was founded in 1855 by W. Stellard as Ballarat Grammar School. Annie Jessup, an artist, was the youngest daughter of the well-known Australian self-taught artist, Alfred William Eustace. Like her father, Annie created some of her oil landscape paintings on gum leaves.
