The Croatian Catholic Centre Sunshine was founded in the early 1980s as part of a wider reorganisation of Croatian pastoral care in Victoria. Its foundation stone was blessed in 1983, and the Centre grew into one of the largest Croatian Catholic centres in the world, centred on the Church of St Leopold Bogdan Mandić.
