Penleigh Boyd, Robin and Patricia Boyd's son, writes “Prior to 1950 Robin, like most other amateur or hobby photographers, took black and white printed photographs. The oldest slides date from 1950 when Robin and Patricia travelled to Europe on Robin’s Robert Haddon Travelling Scholarship.” In 1948 Robin Boyd was awarded ‘joint first place’ in the Robert Haddon competition for his design of Mildura art gallery. The scholarship helped fund their first overseas trip. Robin and Patricia were passengers on the Greek ship “Cyrenia” departing in May 1950, passing through the Suez Canal and landing in Genoa five weeks later. For six months, they travelled extensively throughout Europe (predominantly driving themselves) - France, Italy, United Kingdom, Sweden, Denmark, Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Spain.Colour slide in a mount. The FOX FM PhysiCAL Blade was a rollerblading competition held in the year 2000. The event was a fundraiser for Osteoporosis Victoria, and a total of $2000 was raised. In this photo, Wayne Lyons, (Sales Manager of Paul's Victoria), presents a large novelty cheque to Pauline Satchell (Manager of Fundraising & Marketing at Arthritis Victoria, incorporating Osteoporosis Victoria). Pauline was also the leader of the Osteoporosis team in the competition. A similar photo from the same event appears on page 20 of the Vol 13 Issue 01, Autumn 2000 edition of the Arthritis Victoria (incorporating Osteoporosis Victoria) quarterly magazine, Arthritis Update.
