Photograph - Group photo, 2000

Historical information

The FOX FM PhysiCAL Blade was a rollerblading competition held in the year 2000. The event was a fundraiser for Osteoporosis Victoria, and a total of $2000 was raised. In this photo, Pauline Satchell, Manager of Fundraising & Marketing at Arthritis Victoria (incorporating Osteoporosis Victoria) addresses the crowd after the accepting the cheque. Behind her, Sales Manager of Pauls Victoria, Wayne Lyons, is holding the large novelty cheque. Another photo from the same event appears on page 20 of the Vol 13 Issue 01, Autumn 2000 edition of the Arthritis Victoria (incorporating Osteoporosis Victoria) quarterly magazine, Arthritis Update. In that photo, Wayne Lyons, Pauline Satchell, and others pose for a group photo behind the large novelty cheque. The photo accompanies an article covering the event, which was held on the St Kilda foreshore in the summer of the year 2000.

Physical description

COL photo of a woman speaking into a microphone. Behind her, a man is holding up a large novelty cheque. He is wearing a black cap with the Paul's ice cream text and logo, and a blue t-shirt containing the "Fox FM" and PhysiCal Blade text and logos. The cheque is made out to Osteoporosis Victoria for $2000. They are on a stage, under the cover of a large marquee. Standing beside her is a sports person dressed in a lycra top and shorts. Standing in the background is another man wearing the same sponsor branded t-shirt and another person (obscurred by the large novelty cheque). In the foreground, to the left of the frame, another person's hand and arm can be seen, positioned as if taking a photo of the people onstage (although the camera itself is not visible).
