They are attired in the MESCo uniform that suggests that the photographs were taken before the State Electricity Commission of Victoria takeover on 1 September 1930. The ex-Melbourne Meadowbank cars 27 and 28 first ran in Geelong in 1928. Date of the photos would therefore be restricted to 1928-30, but it is possible that they were taken close to or on the handover date as a final record. See associated item 9235. Green and cream tram with the SEC Logo on the side and the number 13. It is outside the shed of the Ballarat Tram Museum located near Wendouree Lake and the Gardens. Tram 13 is a single truck with drop ends and an open California combination. It was built in 1915 for the Prahran and Malvern Tramways Trust. In 1928 it was used in Geelong and then transferred to Ballarat in 1936. When the Ballarat tramways closed it was donated to the Lake Goldsmith Steam Preservation Society and returned to Ballarat on loan in 1983.
