This is part of a collection which was donated by Col Alexander Vogler Preece (1113) who served with the Royal Australian Infantry Corps. He served in Vietnam with the Australian Army Training Team Vietnam from March 1965 to November 1965, 1st Battalion, The Royal Australian Regiment from December 1965 to June 1966, Headquarters, Australian Force Vietnam (Army Component) from May 1969 to August 1969 and October 1969 to December 1969. He also visited Vietnam in October 1970 and July 1972. Col Preece was awarded The Companion Of The Distinguished Service Order.Newspaper Clippings about Lt Col Preece being spattered with red -tinted kerosene by a protester. There is a photograph of Lt Col Preece doing the salute to Governor General Casey with the stain on his uniform.
