Two internal pockets on right and left side. Cord lanyard hanging from left sleeve. Patch with words 'Royal Australian Artillery' embroidered in red on navy on both left and right shoulders. Separate embroidered crown placed above both embroidered text patches. Material with embroidered crown attached with button at the top on right and left shoulder. A record of the descendants of Robert and Mary Hatch who came from Ireland and settled In southern New South Wales from 1828 to the present day. The Hatch family sailed for Australia from County Down, Ireland on the 'Sarah', arriving at Tasmania on 14 October 1832. They first settled in Hobart, where Robert was a baker for around four years, On 30 July 1836 the family of six arrived in Sydney from Hobart on the barque 'Strathilsa'. Wreckage from unknown ship. Found on "big beach" at Telegraph Point. 2002. Made of wood with corroded metal fragments, the hatch is undated wreckage from an unknown ship. The remnants of shipwreck fabric have second level contributory significance for their interpretive and historic value as artefacts that highlight the distinctive history of the Gabo Island Lightstation.Timber & steel hatch cover from ship.(wrekage) Rectangular shaped piece of wood with a circular shape cut from centre. barbed wooden spear with angled tail extension
This wooden spear has separate tip, barb and tail extensions bound by sinew and resin. The spear head is flattened on the barb side and sharpened to a fine point. The side opposite the barb is convex. The shaft has a tail extension which is 25cm long and bound with resin and sinew to the shaft at an angle of 20 degrees.The head has a subtle cross hatch design between the barb and the neck. -

The ship was originally requisitioned by the RAN as a collier and supply ship. It was decommissioned from RAN service in 1915 which may have required a caretaker. This image is one of several attached to loose album pages which include some images with miscellaneous undated and handwritten inscriptions. This ship served in WW1.
