The 1993 staff photo from Jacana Primary School captures a moment in the school's history during a time of social change in Melbourne’s northern suburbs, reflecting the school's role as a vital community hub that fostered inclusivity, education, and connection among diverse families before its eventual closure and merger in 2009.The 1993 staff photograph of Jacana Primary School holds historical and cultural value as a visual record of a now-closed educational institution that served the Broadmeadows community for five decades. Capturing the educators and staff who shaped the lives of local children during a period of social and demographic change in Melbourne’s northern suburbs, the image reflects the school’s commitment to inclusivity, learning, and community cohesion. As Jacana Primary School was later merged into Broadmeadows Valley Primary School in 2009, this photograph stands as a testament to the legacy of public education and the individuals who contributed to its enduring impact.Colour Photograph on Satin Finish Paper, mounted on card backingBack; (Blue Label): PH-5558 (Manufactures Mark): Fujicolor/ Paperjacana primary school, education, photograph, group photograph, 1993, irene pillipasidis, noelene simpson, glenn payne, kaye smith, carrie dunk, sue bourchier, brian o'dea, heather faulks, nazio mancini, tamara mccabe, yvonne macball, suzanne leahy, karen cooper, nell griesser, yvonne macbain, marta bialocerkowski
