This piece of engraved rock in a velvet bag was presented to councillors of Sunshine City Council at the opening of the Highpoint West Shopping Centre in 1975. The item was presented to the Sunshine & District Historical Society by Mr Charles D. Skidmore, a former councillor of the City of Sunshine. This Victorian Anti-Aircraft and Searchlight Memorial is located at the Highpoint West Shopping Centre, Rosamond Road, Maribyrnong. This memorial plaque commemorates the site as the headquarters of the Anti-Aircraft Searchlight Companies that defended Melbourne during the Second World War.
